Monash Charity Carnival Flash mob 2013
The purpose of the dance was to publicize and hype up the charity carnival led by medical students from Monash University.
Although it was a public events it was held upon private university grounds.
Together with year 2 and year 1 students, we were able to choreograph, practice and perform a flash mob of roughly 60 students. To get everyone for rehearsals and remember the dance was tough especially when finding time between our packed classes of 9-5 everyday. Thus all the year 2 students had no time for practice in a normal week and had to learn the dance during our 2 week small rural field trip in Segamat. Even with the confusion of specific dance moves and the intermittent slip-ups during he performance, the whole flash mob turned out to be a great success! Nearly all the students dancing had no prior experience in dance but for the love of having fun and being a part of something big, we all did the best we can. At the end, we danced this flash mob 3 times and brought the ecstatic environment to life!
