At the AHA 9th Annual Art Festival, members of AHA and Full Life participants, DSWs and community friends performed “Me Too” by Megan Trainor. With the success of this second AHA flashmob, it was clear that AHA’s performing arts component needed to be established…nine months later, “Friday Dance Party (FDP) group was born!

AHA- Hawai’i Island Planning Committee is comprised of persons with and without disabilities who value the importance of community inclusion for all persons with disabilities.
AHA organizes an annual event celebrating the arts, promoting disability awareness and pride by celebrating individual abilities rather than disabilities, and promoting employment in the arts. This year’s event takes place at the Prince Kuhio Plaza on Saturday, July 22, 2017, 10am to 3pm, in Hilo.
The largest celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act in Hawai’i, AHA is a not for profit, community event that brings together more than 400 participants for a day of music, performing arts, visual arts, healing arts, hands on demonstrations, and more. This FREE event also incorporates speeches by disability self-advocates and important community leaders.
AHA needs the help of local businesses to keep this meaningful community event completely FREE to the public.
AHA also works to build community by supporting various drug-free community events. With volunteer artist and donated supplies, we provide free all-ages art activities such as chalk art, face and body painting, mural, etc.
