Syrian Flashmob in Nijmegen

After the many initiatives that I did in the last two years in order to bring the Syrian and Dutch society closer such as, Exhibition of Syrian civilization in Beuningen and Nijmegen, and many presentations of ‘’the story of Syria’’ that talk about Syrian culture and life before the war and the common ground between the two societies.
And after 7 weeks of hard preparations with a great team, I am honored to give you our last activity to represent the beautiful face of Syria in a new way in the Netherlands…
This flashmob took place on 9 Sep 2017 in the city center of Nijmegen – Netherlands. It was organized by Mawteni Foundation and with the supporting of Huis van Compassie.
Our message was to show the beautiful face of Syria through Syrian music and dance. We chose music because we believe that it unites people.
In the flashmob we have summarized different types of Syrian modern and traditional dancing as Ballet, Breakdance, freestyle, kinds of traditional dance and Dabkeh, and of course with the amazing Syrian sing as well.
As our great poet Mahmoud Darwish said:
We love life whenever we can.
We dance and throw up a minaret or raise palm trees for the violets growing between two martyrs.
We love life whenever we can.
We steal a thread from a silk-worm to weave a sky and a fence for our journey.
We open the garden gate for the jasmine to walk into the street as a beautiful day.

بعد إقامتي للعديد من النشاطات التي كانت تهدف دائماً إلى إظهار الوجه الجميل لسوريا و التقريب بين المجتمعين السوري والهولندي مثل، معرض الحضارة السورية في بوننغن و نايميخن، و محاضرات ” قصة سوريا” التي تتحدث عن الحضارة و الحياة في سوريا قبل الحرب والنقاط المشتركة بين المجتمعين…
وبعد 7 أسابيع من التحضيرات المكثفة مع فريق عمل رائع، يشرفني أن أقدم لكم آخر نشاطاتنا والتي تهدف كذلك إلى إظهار الوجه الجميل لسوريا ولكن بطريقة مميزة هذه المرة.
قمنا بهذا الاستعراض المفاجئ (فلاشموب) في ساحة نايميخن العامة يوم السبت 9 أيلول 2017 وكان مفاجئة غير معلن عنها أو متوقعة من الحاضرين. تم تنظيم هذا الحدث من قبل موطني فاونديشن ودعمه من قبل جمعية هاوس فان كومباسي الهولندية العريقة.
كانت رسالتنا هي إظهار الوجه الجميل لسوريا والذي غطاه غبار الحرب والإعلام السيء عبر فنون الغناء والموسيقى والرقص السوريين. و لقد اخترنا الموسيقى لإيماننا أنها توحد كل البشر.
قمنا بتلخيص مجموعة من فنون الرقص الحديث الذي يمارسه جيل اليوم في سوريا والتقليدي كذلك مثل الباليه، البريكدانس، الفريستايل، رقص العربية، تراثي و دبكة، و ختمنا بأجمل فنون الغناء السوري.
أترككم مع فيديو الحدث والذي احتاج فترة من التحضير والمونتاج حتى يخرج باجمل صورة ممكنة وشكر خاص للشاب المميز الذي قام بالمونتاج الجميل.
