Based in the heart of the CBD of Sydney (1min from the QVB) Flamenco Sydney Dance studio is accessible from every corner of the metropolitan area.

The principal teacher Marina Tamayo has been instructing, directing, choreographing, training young children to Adults the art of Spanish Dance and Flamenco in Spain, Asia-pacific, New Zealand, Tasmania for a span of 34 years.

Teaching Objectives

To offer accessible and comprehensive Flamenco education by engaging both professionals and the community in skill- based, educative fun filled classes, Open forums, and workshops.

To ensure the art of Flamenco is practised and shared in its traditional form by open teaching methods, encouraging improvisation and performance in each individual. By respecting the uniqueness of each student, both student and teacher work towards finding together a common voice through this art form.

To develop a platform of support for aspiring and professional artists training in both Australia and Spain through preparing individual educative training programs.

Teaching Methodology
My education and experience as a musician and dance artist has taught me the value of synthesizing various approaches for interpretation, understanding, and appreciation of all Dance & Music styles, and has prepared me for teaching Flamenco from a wide variety of perspectives.

I believe that students who are exposed to many different techniques, forms, styles and approaches find Flamenco much more understandable than classes or courses that focus only on the one form.

Having almost finished my Bachelor of Education I recognise one of the fundamentals of an effective teacher is to consider all the different learning approaches of students. My goal is to apply diverse methodologies in order to connect with the various students and their levels, as well as to challenge them in safe and nurturing environments.

The greatest potential for teaching and learning occurs when both the teacher and the students engage openly to new and different methods, suiting each individual.

For me, there are no two students absorbing information in the exact same way.

An inspired artistic teacher yields inspired and well-educated artists!

Flamenco Sydney purpose is to make engagement with authentic Andalusian performing arts accessible to the Australian community. We will do this by providing people with the opportunity to participate in, support or to immerse themselves as part of an audience, in the vibrancy of our performances’.

Flamenco Sydney™ is a sub-branch school from the company Flamenco Australia™.

Classes are held daily throughout the week to all ages.
